The Marine Information Technology Research Center mainly works

on information technology such as microfluidic biochip, ship fault diagnosis, marine renewable energy system, marine cyber-physical systems, monitoring and alerting of information from sky, air(based on drones), land and marine, desalination. The center also focuses on developing and advancing related equipment.

The center has established 7 laboratories, i.e. microfluidic bio-chip system laboratory, optical fiber testing laboratory, electronic material growth laboratory, cyber-physical systems laboratory, intelligent control laboratory, intelligent detection laboratory and intelligent computing laboratory. The center now has 5 professors, 2 associate professors, 4 associate researchers and 4 assistant researchers with publications of more than 90 SCI papers in international top journals such as IEEE Trans. Cloud Computing, IEEE Trans. Smart Grid, Applied Energy. It has been granted 8 provincial and ministerial scientific and technological progress awards and more than 60 invention patents. It now undertakes nearly 10 national major special projects and secures scientific research funds over 30 million RMB.
