The 2018 GRC on Ocean Biogeochemistry will focus on processes that occur at and between marine interfaces. Oral and poster presentations and discussions will address, without being limited to, biogeochemical fluxes between the atmosphere and the ocean; between the surface, intermediate, and deep waters; and between the deep ocean, the seafloor and the sub-seafloor. Socio-economic aspects will also be considered.

The 2018 GRC will be preceded by a Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) on Ocean Biogeochemistry, open to graduate students and postdocs interested in marine biogeochemistry and related fields. The GRS will provide a forum for early career researchers to present and discuss results from their research in a peer-to-peer setting in advance of the GRC.

The Gordon Research Seminar on Ocean Biogeochemistry is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.

The 2018 GRS on Ocean Biogeochemistry will highlight research being conducted by early career scientists at and between marine interfaces. Oral presentations, poster sessions, and open floor discussions will focus on biogeochemical fluxes between the atmosphere and the ocean; between the surface ocean, the mesopelagic zone, and abyssal depths; between the deep ocean, the seafloor and the sub-seafloor; between coastal and open ocean environments; and along meridional gradients. Science policy work relating to these topics will also be considered.

Dr.Jihua LIU from the Institute of Marine Science and Technology, Shandong University has  been selected to
participate in this highly prestigious conference, which will be held at the Hong Kong University of Science and
Technology(HKUST), Clear Water Bay,Hong Kong, during the week of July 8-13,2018.Dr. Jihua LIU has agreed to participate in this Conference as a Discussion Leader. The Chair of this Gordon Conference is enthusiastic about the participation of Dr. Jihua LIU at the meeting, which is highly anticipated by the entire conference community.
